The mid-day sun near Trondheim in Norway during November. It is getting progressively darker here as the Winter sun becomes lower in the sky with each passing day. Luckily the white snow has a reflecting effect that brightens the otherwise very dark days. Brilliant opportunities for photography as the Dawn and Dusk times are much longer.

Lom Stavkirke

This church originally located approximately 60kms West of the Norwegian town of Otta in Oppland County is now situated in the town of Lom. It dates back to the 12th century, however underwent changes during the 1600′s. It is one of just a few stave churches of which the original medieval dragon head crest still survives.

Knocked a little too hard!? Taken by the abandoned plant nursery/garden center in Meråker, Norway on a rainy afternoon in Spring.

Trønder Is

The wash-up area of an old abandoned garden nursery in Meråker, Norway. As the story was told, the old man who ran the nursery passed away suddenly and no-one took over as it really wasn’t financially viable. Although the place had been vacated for some time evidence that it was just suddenly abandoned was all over, with photo’s, financial records, and general items just left where they had always been.

Squirrel

This hungry little squirrel has moved in somewhere by the house in Meråker. He is often seen scurrying about collecting the sunflower seeds put out for the birds and burying them all over the front garden. I suspect there will be many sunflowers growing this year. He is the only one I have seen in this area, although I have seen evidence of others.

Fonnfjell

Taken from the wall of Grønbergdammen which lies about half way between Meråker and the Swedish border town and ski resort of Storlien. Fonnfjell is the mountain in which Meråker lies at the foot of, and is clearly visible from almost anywhere within the kommune. For as long as anyone can remember a small glacier exists in the shadowed area atop the mountain, although this has melted twice in recent years. This year it may just melt again given the unusually early onset of spring and comparatively mild winter.
